About LWV of Brooklyn Pk/Osseo/Maple Gr
The BPOMG LWV chapter is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025. The birth of our local chapter came during a time when women were challenging obstacles to a wide range of gender issues (i.e., property rights, workplace inequalities, and domestic control).In 1965, when our chapter was established, there was much unrest in our country. Civil rights marches and women’s movements were happening across our nation. Although we don’t have many historical records about the work of BPOMG LWV we like to think that our organization was active in the political process of ensuring the voting rights of every eligible American regardless of race, ethnicity or gender in our community.
